“As a person I have a strong sense of longing. I don’t know what I actually long for or where the feeling comes from. It’s just a part of who I am, and it takes me places. ”

4 Dagar Till Nordkap is a film reflecting on longing, darkness, doubt, movement as a safe place, the power of community and the strength of a common goal. The riders take on a 700 KM journey from Riksgränsen in Sweden all the way to the northernmost part of Europe in four days.

“This ride was a chance for me to reconnect with my surroundings. I’m a person who has a strong longing. I don’t know what I long for or where the feeling comes from. It’s just a part of who I am, and it takes me places. Combining movement, food, nature, and new and old friends is something I have always dreamed of. The simplicity of being on the road, heading towards a goal - and reaching it with my own body. I think it so natural and in this modern world we easily lose ourselves in things we believe are important - moving in nature brings me real joy. And in that space, I become my best self. “

“Waking up in the morning with one mission: to eat and ride. That was a nice place to be. Being giggly due to tiredness was an incredible highlight every day. There is something special about being outside all 24 hours of the day. And when your legs just continue to push hour after hour you almost feel immortal. “

“Somewhere halfway between Alta and the next campsite, knowing that we’d arrive in complete darkness after 10 PM, I also understood that we all would make it to Nordkapp the next day. We were soaking wet, tired, hungry and in pain, yet, the realization warmed my heart. I saw how everyone pushed at - or beyond - their limits. It was tough but no one complained. Instead, we focused inwards. Took a break in silence. Or let some frustrations out. And we kept going. We all kept going.”

“This was one of the most demanding, yet beautiful adventures I've been privileged to experience - in so many ways. To be riding in the most majestic landscapes with a group of strong women that you can rely on and be inspired by is nothing I take for granted. The first evening when we were descending in rain and darkness with shitty tarmac not really knowing how far it was to the camping site. I was constantly dropping the group due to my bad eyesight. I just visualised crashing constantly. But as soon as the tarmac got better and we met the support car I came back to life.”

“We were really in this bubble. There was nothing else than getting from Riksgränsen to North Cape. The excitement of arriving in Kiruna and to prepare everything, getting to know each other, and then just riding all day, knowing that’s the only thing you’ve got to do is quite a luxury. This trip left me hungry for more.”

- Emma Ingemann

"The pure nature, beautiful roads and wildlife were just insane. While the distance and hours in the saddle passed quickly, the real challenge for me was the camping part. Realizing how much we depend on tap water, electricity and full batteries in everyday life, was shocking. In general, the whole trip was very grounding and the connection to nature felt special."
