7 tips to complete the Midsummer Challenge on Zwift

Riding 200 km outside is quite the challenge. But, depending on where you are located, venturing outside might not be an option. Either because of the weather or other circumstances.

That’s why we offer Midsummer Challenge Rides on virtual platform Zwift as well. Alex Tolome and Roeschelle Tiongson are hosting the rides - here are their tips on completing the 200 km challenge indoors.

  1. Before the ride, try to do a bit of stretching and warming up to prepare your muscles.
  2. Plan your nutrition, know your body and how much food and liquid you need for the ride.
  3. Ambience is important. Create a motivating atmosphere with lighting, music, plants, and visuals. Maybe put your setup in front of a window or an aquarium.
  4. Keep yourself comfortable during the ride, make sure there is enough space so that you can easily grab anything you need during the ride.
  5. Don’t think that you can’t finish the ride, always keep in mind that you can do it and you have challenged yourself to complete this ride, look forward on finishing it
  6. For toilet breaks, use the coffee stop function in the Zwift action bar. It gives you a 3-minute break while drafting with the crew and is available every 30 minutes. Use it wisely.
  7. Just have fun and don't put too much pressure on yourself during the ride. Find your group and set your pace. Remember, it’s not a race. We’re here to help everyone complete the Zwift Midsummer Ride together.
